THE 6TH ANNUAL UKEE GREENLAND WEEKEND

Where the tribe gathers for Greenland paddling, world-class instruction, West Coast adventure, and a true taste of Ukee Time.

For six years, paddlers from around the world have come together in Ucluelet to celebrate Greenland paddling, traditional skills, community, and the spirit of the sea.

The West Coast of Vancouver Island has a magic all its own. Time slows down, the air smells like salt and cedar, and people connect in ways that stay with them long after they leave.

This is Ukee Time.

Hosted by Manke Kayak, the Ukee Greenland Weekend brings together exceptional instructors, passionate paddlers, traditional Greenland skills, rough water, good food, music, games, and plenty of time to simply enjoy being on the West Coast.

And in 2027, we're giving you the option to take it one step further.

OPTIONAL FRIDAY PRE-WORKSHOP

ARRIVE EARLY. GO DEEPER.

The main Ukee Greenland Weekend features two full days of instruction on Saturday and Sunday, followed by our full-group coastal paddle on Monday.

But if you're traveling to Ucluelet and want to make the most of your time with some of the finest Greenland paddling instructors in the world, you can now arrive a day early and join us for a full day of focused instruction on Friday, July 9.

Friday will be a smaller, more focused day centered around rolling, Greenland technique, rough water, and specific skills you want to develop.

Rather than another structured workshop with a fixed curriculum, we'll use the day to go deeper into the skills that matter to you.

Maybe there's a roll you've been trying to master. Maybe you want to refine your Greenland technique, become more comfortable in rough water, or work on your surfing and bracing. This is your opportunity to get additional time on the water with our instructors before the main weekend begins.

It's not simply another day of the event. It's a chance to go deeper.

Friday may include:

➡️ Bracing and recovery
➡️ Rough-water paddling
➡️ Kayak surfing and dynamic water skills

Friday Pre-Workshop is optional and has limited spaces.

WANT THE FULL UKEE EXPERIENCE?

For those joining the Friday Pre-Workshop, an additional night of group camping is available as an optional add-on.

Arrive Thursday for check-in at 2pm, settle into camp, spend the day on the water Friday and then join everyone that evening as the official Ukee Greenland Weekend gets underway.

THE WEEKEND

Saturday and Sunday are the heart of the Ukee Greenland Weekend: two full days of on-water instruction, with multiple workshop options designed to help you develop your Greenland paddling and rough-water skills.

Choose from workshops including:

On Saturday night, a guest chef will prepare a special buffet meal for the group.

On Sunday, the legendary Backyard Smash Burgers return by popular demand.
