So for those concerned about the conditions being too big, we've pick a relatively tame time of year to be sure we are not going above students comfort zones.

Frequently Asked Questions

⭐️ I'm a beginner paddler, is the event something I can attend?

Unfortunately no, this event is more in-line for paddlers with some experience. You don't necessarily need rough water experience but have basic rescue skills is essential.

⭐️ I have a lot of experience in rough water already. Is this event going to add any value to me?

Absolutely! This event is geared around those who have some experience and want to develop a greater understanding of how to paddle in rough water conditions.

⭐️ What does shared camping mean?

We allocated 3 people per campsite, generally two tents per campsite is our goal. Be mindful of the size of your tent in this case.

⭐️ Rough Water in August? Will the conditions be big enough to challenge my skills?

The graveyard of the pacific area can offer some challenging conditions for the best of paddlers even in more mild conditions. The best way to learn rough water paddling is in conditions that are more manageable rather than conditions that take us far outside our comfort zone. This event is focused on learning not surviving to tell the tail!
