Join Stay Salty for an immersive sea kayak rolling experience under the guidance of two of the world’s leading rolling instructors, Eiichi Ito and James Manke. Whether you’re refining your Greenland roll or taking your first steps into rolling techniques, Stay Salty offers a unique, inspiring blend of skill development, community, and adventure.

What Is Stay Salty?

Stay Salty is more than just a clinic, it’s a rolling-tour global movement. Eiichi Ito and James Manke travel around the world hosting workshops, retreats, and rolling events. The mission: to connect paddlers with the water, to push boundaries, to inspire a new generation of kayakers and to foster a global community of rolling enthusiasts.

At Stay Salty events, participants have the chance to:

  • Learn and refine Greenland rolling styles

  • Dive into advanced intensive rolling techniques and drills

  • Practice in a supportive, immersive environment

  • Interact with instructors and fellow paddlers in a community setting

  • Experience local culture, landscapes, and paddling environments as part of the tour

Highlights & Features

  • All Levels Welcome - Stay Salty retreats typically accommodate paddlers from beginner to advanced. Whether you’ve never rolled before or compete in Greenland rolling competitions, there’s something for you.

  • Technique Variety - Expect instruction across a range of rolling styles: butterfly roll, standard Greenland roll, layback / hand rolls, storm rolls, sweep / reverse sweeps, and forward-finish hand rolls.

  • Land & Water Integration - Workshops blend land drills, biomechanics theory, and on-water practice to help you internalize movement patterns and timing.

Camaraderie & Culture - Outside of training, participants engage in group activities and cultural exchanges, building bonds that go beyond paddling skills.
