Greenland Flag

This flag was flown at the National Greenland Kayaking Championships in 2014. While team Canada was leaving Greenland, James Manke was approached by a Greenlandic friend who ran up the dock as they were about to board a boat to transport to the airport. The fellow asked what James was doing with his drysuit in which he replied “why do you want it?”. Knowing it was very difficult to source drysuits in Greenland, James struck a last minute deal with his friend in exchange for the flag flying above the competition. Quickly the fellow ran and quickly returned with the flag just in time to seal the deal. This flag now hang on the wall at Manke at the Wreckage to remind visitors of where kayaking originated from as the space represends it’s
